Why Your Vote Has Power in the Central Valley

In this Faith in the Valley Justice interview, we feature three Faith In the Valley organizers from different locations across the Central Valley and we explore how to critically engage new and infrequent voters who question the electoral voting process. We also explore how we build a different culture of democratic participation in the Central Valley.

Our organizers help us see the need for electoral participation, and they also warn us not to fall into the trap that voting is the only means for expressing our collective political power.

In the midst of racially-targeted voter suppression and other issues connected to the ballot box, these organizers give us an on-the-ground perspective about how people in our communities are viewing the upcoming election.

They also remind us why the ballot box is still one of the most important tools average people can use to address the myriad of needs in California’s Central Valley.
