Help Bring Someone Home
Every dollar you give today will be MATCHED up to $25,000
Families are waiting.
Since January, Faith in the Valley has helped reunite 925 individuals with their loved ones after release from immigration detention. For many people, getting home is not simple. It can mean needing a bus ticket, a plane ticket, or someone willing to help navigate a long and unfamiliar trip.
Today, you can help make sure nobody has to make that journey alone.
$25 becomes $50
$100 becomes $200
$500 becomes $1,000
Only the people save the people.
“Solo el pueblo salva al pueblo.”
No One Should Walk Out of Detention Alone
Every week, people are released from immigration detention carrying everything they own in a small bag.
Many leave exhausted, disoriented and unsure how they will make it home to the families waiting for them.
Some have not spoken to loved ones in days or weeks. Some are dropped off hundreds of miles away from where they live. Others have nowhere to sleep while they wait for transportation.
One of our Valley Watch Network accompaniers recently reflected on meeting community members as they walked out of detention. He shared how painful it is to watch grown men break down in tears after being treated like criminals when all they wanted was to provide for their families.
While waiting for a Greyhound bus, he sat in a circle with individuals who had immigrated to the U.S. from Venezuela, Peru, Guatemala, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Cuba, Sudan and India.
Together, they shared stories of faith, resilience, hope and the dream of returning home to the lives they built here in America.
Before departing, they embraced one another like family.
This Is What It Looks Like When People Show Up For One Another
Governments may criminalize people. Systems may abandon them.
But ordinary people can still choose compassion.
That is exactly what Faith in the Valley volunteers, faith leaders and accompaniers are doing every single day across the Central Valley.
They are answering late-night phone calls. Coordinating rides. Buying meals. Helping people find transportation. Sitting with families during moments of fear and uncertainty. Praying together. Crying together. Celebrating reunions together.
This is how we make sure people are not left alone after detention.
And, today, you can be part of it.
