In the midst of our calls for justice and due process, we must remember the loved ones taken from us, not defined by their last moments or by their killers, but by their unique ethos of creative energy.
Local Families Shared Their Stories With Gubernatorial Candidates in Orosi
In order to build powerful relationships with the next Governor and demonstrate the power and unique concerns of the Central Valley, local families shared their stories and talked about local concerns with gubernatorial candidates Antonio Villaraigosa and Delaine Eastin in a series of “encounters” in rural Orosi and southwest Fresno.
The efforts of leaders across Faith in the Valley in listening to their communities and congregations and researching issues helped inform the questions and topics discussed with the candidates.
They heard about immigration, bail reform, air pollution, water quality and youth opportunities, and they shared their commitments to partner with local efforts.
We extend a special thank you to the community leaders, clergy and partner organizations who helped shared this experience. The efforts will continue through non-partisan questionnaires, a forum after the primaries and continued conversations after the election.
