As part of the national Live Free campaign, Faith in the Valley is advancing efforts to promote alternatives to incarceration and to end racial profiling and the criminalization of black and brown young people.
Leaders in several of our counties have built support for the implementation of 21st Century Policing and are currently organizing for independent review and investigation of deadly force and other mechanisms to improve transparency and accountability among law enforcement.
We are also working to reduce gun violence, to support Proposition 47 implementation, and to stop a new state funded gang injunction program.
Finally, we are engaging in civic engagement work this fall to dismantle unjust sentencing practices for youth who can currently be charged as adults.
