Faith in the Valley Executive Director a Featured Speaker at MLK Luncheon

Women who have carried on the message of equality will speak at events in honor of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. in and near Stanislaus County.
Other speakers will take part as well in commemorations of the civil rights leader’s 89th birthday. He was born Jan. 15, 1929, in Atlanta and assassinated in Memphis on April 4, 1968.

Friday, Jan. 12, Modesto: The King-Kennedy Memorial Center will hold its 25th annual King luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The speaker will be Lady Trena Turner, executive director of Faith in the Valley, a coalition working for social justice.
