Faith in the Valley is currently seeking paid canvassers to join a new, semi-permanent canvassing team in Fresno. This team will engage in regular weekend canvassing, and all members of the team must commit to availability during the assigned schedule. A team of 10 will be led by two designated lead canvassers.
Canvassers will engage members of the public through door-to-door canvassing, phonebanking, crowd canvassing, or other means. Rain or shine, our canvassing team will commit to communicating with the public on issues of critical importance, such as housing, immigration, criminal justice reform, or protecting our environment.
We are seeking canvassers who are available weekends, and who have reliable transportation. Bilingual (English + Spanish) is preferred but we encourage anyone who is passionate about our community to apply. This is a part time, paid, permanent position. Exact hours and locations to be determined. Pay is $22/hr. Mileage is reimbursed.
Job Summary
The door-to-door canvassing program will be in collaboration with Mobilize Organize Voter Empower (MOVE) the Valley. MOVE the Valley is a non-partisan regional integrated civic engagement coalition focused on amplifying the electoral voices of the community and building civic engagement infrastructures. MOVE the Valley is a multi-racial and multigenerational coalition focusing on integrated voter engagement, voter education, and get out the vote (GOTV) efforts within historically marginalized and excluded communities.
Canvassers will engage members of the public through door-to-door canvassing, phonebanking, crowd canvassing, or other means. Must be willing to commit to the canvassing schedule. Must be available for the following specific dates: July 19, 2025; August 16, 2025; September 20, 2025; October 18, 2025; and November 15, 2025.

Skills
- Canvassers must have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal communication skills.
- They also must remain organized and accurate when recording their canvassing activities
- Canvassers must always maintain a positive, personable, outgoing and enthusiastic attitude. These individuals must be professional and self-directed and able to work well in a team.
- Attend a mandatory orientation and training
- Arrive to the canvassing location on time
- Willingness to engage community members in a professional manner
- Show up for the agreed work dates and times
- Understanding that repeated failure to meet team expectations will result in removal from the team
Environment
Canvassers must be prepared to work in all types of weather. They also must be able to complete light physical activities such as sitting down and must be able to carry up to 10 pounds.
Education
We prefer canvassers who have at least a high school diploma or GED. They also might have some previous experience canvassing.
